An “immediate end to all uses of armed force and discontinuation of bombings in the Gaza Strip” has been urged by four Vietnamese people’s organizations on July 23rd.
In a statement made public jointly, the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Vietnam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation, Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation and Vietnam Peace Committee described the on-going fighting in Gaza as “encroachment upon peace, security and human rights in the region and the world”. The four organizations “energetically condemn the use of armed force against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and call upon all parties concerned to end immediately all recourses to armed force, discontinue bombings in Gaza, and enter into negotiations for a radical solution of the conflict”. “We also call on all parties to abide by international law and cooperate with the international community for a prompt restoration of peace and stability in the region,” they added. The Vietnamese organizations “express profound condolences to the people of Gaza over their sufferings and losses” and ”reiterate their solidarity with and support for the legitimate national aspirations of the Palestinian people”./.
