- “Participation and Coordination of Vietnamese People’s Organizations in the Implementation of MDGs and Lessons Learnt”, by Bùi Bá Bình, member, VPDF Council;

- “Implementation of SDGs related to Labor and Social Security – Prospects, Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam”, by Lê Kim Dung, Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
From the presentations and ensuing discussions, the following remarks and recommendations were underlined:
- Vietnam has implemented successfully the MDGs, and significant reasons have been the Government’s political commitment and the community’s active involvement.
- Compared with MDGs, implementation of SDGs requires a really comprehensive solution, with a still broader participation by government ministries, business sectors and other stakeholders, a deeper awareness, and larger resources.
- Vietnamese people’s organizations are to build on lessons learnt from MDGs’ implementation, promote their proactiveness, and strive for a more fruitful involvement.
- It is advisable for the Government to enforce formal mechanisms and reserve concrete resources for people’s organizations to get involved in SDGs’ implementation./.
