The year 2022 is of special significance for the relationship between Vietnam and Laos. The two sides will jointly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5th, 1962 - September 5th, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July 18th, 1977 - July 18th, 2022), 40 years of establishing judicial cooperation relations between the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the Lao Ministry of Justice.
On behalf of Hanoi Law University, Rector Doan Trung Kien expressed his honor to welcome the Minister of Justice Phayvi SYBOULYPHA and the delegation of the Lao Ministry of Justice to visit and work at Hanoi Law University.

At the meeting, Rector Doan Trung Kien briefly reviewed the establishment and development of the University and reported on the training of high-quality human resources for the Lao Ministry of Justice at Hanoi Law University. To specify, from 1985 by the end of the academic year 2021-2022, at Hanoi Law, 193 Lao students graduated from the law bachelor program, 166 Lao students received law master's degrees, and law doctorate degrees were awarded to 04 Lao students. Currently, 56 Lao students cluding 21 LLB, 29 LLL and 6 PhD students are studing at Hanoi Law University.

Continuing the cooperation tradition between Hanoi Law University and the Lao National Academy of Justice for many years, Hanoi Law University has organized a range of activities to promote the training of high-quality human resources for the Lao Ministry of Justice at Hanoi Law University, such as: welcoming delegations of Lao law training institutions to visit and work at Hanoi Law University for discussing teaching methods and experience in developing training programs, compiling textbooks, building and developing library information centers; training LLM students free of charge and provided accommodation for 22 lecturers from Lao law training institutions; sending IT engineers to provide technical advice and upgrade information and informatics equipment, supporting in building management software for Lao law training institutions; sending lecturers to Lao law training institutions to participate in scientific seminars and professional exchanges.
Thanking the warm welcome of the Minister of Justice, Minister Phayvy SIBOUALYPHA wishes to continue receiving the support and assistance from the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and Hanoi Law University for Lao students at the University. In the coming time, Hanoi Law University will closely cooperate with the Lao National Academy of Justice to continue promoting cooperation activities in a practical and effective maner, contributing to further improving the training quality of Lao legal human resources.
