VPC President receives Chinese delegation
Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC) President Uông Chu Lưu, who is also Vice-President of Vietnam’s National Assembly, received on October 22nd in Hanoi a delegation of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD).
 Headed by CPAPD Deputy General Secretary Tao Tao, the delegation was touring Vietnam at the invitation of the VPC.
Welcoming the delegation, Uông Chu Lưu expressed the wish that its visit would help strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between the VPC and CPAPD.
Vietnam, he said, stood for the constant consolidation and healthy, stable and durable development of comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership between the two countries. He spoke warmly of the years’ long cooperation between the VPC and CPAPD which, he affirmed, had contributed actively to the enhancement of friendly relations between the people of Vietnam and China, and to peace and stability in the region and the world.
Tao Tao thanked Uông Chu Lưu for the audience, and said his delegation’s visit was aimed at promoting cooperation between the CPAPD and VPC as well as friendship between the people of the two countries.
The Chinese delegation also had meetings with senior office-bearers of the VPC and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association. It also paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. 
During their discussions, the VPC representatives expressed the wish to join related organizations and agencies in contribution to the realization of agreements between senior leaders of the two Parties and countries, the satisfactory solution of disputes, and the maintenance of peace and stability in the East Sea, in response to the aspirations and fundamental and long-term interests of the people of both countries.
After Hanoi, the Chinese delegation spent two days in HoChiMinh City./.
