The Vietnam Committee for Afro-Asian-Latin America Solidarity and Cooperation held a conference to review its activities in 2017 and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of AAPSO.
The Vietnam Committee for Afro-Asian-Latin America Solidarity and Cooperation held a conference to review its activities in 2017 and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of AAPSO.

On 17th Januray , 2018, The Vietnam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation  held a conference to review its activities in 2017 and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of AAPSO.

The participants included Nguyen Thi Binh, Former Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Vice President of AAPSO,  leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO,the Vietnam Committee for Afro-Asian-Latin America Solidarity and Cooperation; and other organizations affiliated to VUFO.
The conference underlined lessons learnt discussed issues  and challenges to be tackled by during the past year;  and issues and challenges to be tackled in the new year. It also came up with a plan to organize the Committee’s 7th Congress (2018-2023 tenure), slatedfor June, 2018.
Dủing the celebration of the 60thfoundation anniversary of  AAPSO, the  participants reviewedthe  development of AAPSO over the past 60 years,  its great contributions to expanding and deepening the solidarity among Asian and African peoples in theỉr struggles for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress. Nguyên Thi Binh and others expressed heartfelt thanks to AAPSO and its national committees for their valuable solidarity, support  andassistance to the Vietnamese people during their past struggle for national independence and reunification as well as their present endeavors in national construction and development.. The participants were also updated with information about current developments  in Africa, the Middle East; and South-East Asia./.
